Flash Slide Shows to Showcase Your MySpace Photos
By Jessica Jone
As you look at other profiles while browsing MySpace, you can't help but notice how many people have slide shows on their pages to show off their photos. Some of these slide shows are the type that MySpace provides to everyone who has a profile.
These are nice enough, but come across as rather plain and generic. The slide shows that you have noticed are much more eye catching. Some have music added to them as well as captions, text, glitter text, sparkles, hearts... you've seen a mind-boggling array of pure bling that really dresses up the slide show. Other shows you've come across have skins, themes, and background graphics. All of these extras give the photos a fresh new look, and really showcases them to their best advantage.
How can you put one or more of these flash side shows on your own profile?
It's easy to add both the slide shows and the extras. The most difficult thing you will encounter is picking out the photos you want to show off! There are several options for you to choose from in order to set up a flash show for yourself. All of them are quite good. Some may have a few more options than others; the choice is yours based on what you want to see on your profile.
• Rock You is a web site that allows you to create slide shows with your photos and add music, themes, and many different styles of text and graphics. Rock You hosts your photos. There's no need to find a separate hosting site. Just choose your photos, upload them to Rock You, place them in the order you want them to appear in, and add extras to your heart's content. You can also upload photos you may already have on sites such as Photobucket and others.
• Slide is another site where you can make flash slide shows. It is similar to Rock You, but adds a selection of preset designs you can use to "frame" your photos. Choose from holiday designs, billboard, newspaper, billboard, retro, multicolor, and many others. You can also customize the design with an array of different effects.
• Pixzor, like the two sites above, is set up so you can upload your photos into an "album", where they are stored on the site. You can customize the flash slide show you make here with several different styles and skins.
Some of these sites will place the slideshow on your MySpace profile for you with the click of a button, but it's easy to do it yourself. Once you have uploaded all the pictures you want to use, added all the bling and text you desire, and have chosen the size you want your finished slideshow to be, the web site will generate a code for you. Simply click on it, and the entire code will be highlighted. Copy and paste this code into the "About Me" section of your MySpace profile editor. Preview the change. You should see your slide show and all of the extras. If you don't there's a chance you left out some of the code, so try again. Once you can see the finished product in preview mode, you are good to go. Save all changes, and your new flash slide show is now ready to be admired by one and all.
Flash slide shows can really showcase your prized photos so that you can display them on MySpace for the world to see.
